I took the truck to a different mechanic and asked him to install the HD Bulletproof oil cooler with cold weather thermostat and remote filtration, head gaskets/studs, and a cold air intake. He found that the HPOP screen on my oil cooler was about 75% plugged and that my head gaskets were carboned up and on the verge of complete failure. Local regs require that I keep my front license plate and I really like my front fog lights so I opted for the then unannounced condenser mounted oil cooler - I was a test subject. I discovered an interesting fact regarding these trucks (not sure how many model years this includes) in that some of us have larger auto tranny oil coolers than others.
